Another name to add to the ever growing list of quality British female folk singers. This time it’s Scottish singer Emily Smith who mixes traditional Scottish songs with her own material on the exquisite album, Too Long Away (Spit & Polish Records). As with many of her contemporaries it is her stunningly beautiful voice which is her crowning glory so if you’re into the likes of Kate Rusby or Bill Jones then this album is a must.
